I am a postgraduate Literature student at the University of York.

Who do I tutor?
I am able to tutor students of any age (Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Adult) and ability in the following subjects:
- English as a Foreign Language
- English Literature
- English Language
- English Language and Literature
As such, tutoring sessions with me could:
- Improve a student’s conversational English abilities
- Develop an Elementary School student’s reading and writing abilities
- Prepare an MYP student for IB English
- Prepare an IB student for their final examinations and coursework
What does online tutoring with me look like?
Dependent on the student’s age and the urgency of their goals, sessions will be between 30 minutes and 1 hour, and occur either once or twice a week.
The first tutoring session is a complimentary 30 minute conversation in which we establish student-specific goals for the tutoring programme, and decide on our regular meeting times.
I hold all sessions on Zoom, and use the screen-sharing function and/or Google Docs to share resources and work together. If relevant or needed, “homework” might be assigned.
Following each session, the parent and/or student will receive a summary email of the session.
What qualifications do I have?
I’m a current MA Medieval Literature and Language student at the University of York.
I am a university graduate, having a BA in English Literature from the University of York.
I also have a ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language’ (TEFL) Level 3 Certificate.
What teaching experience do I have?
I have worked as a private English tutor since 2017, both in-person and online. Specifically, I have experience tutoring Elementary and Middle School students in reading, writing and spelling, and High School (GCSE, MYP, IB, AP and A-Level) students in English Literature and English Language & Literature.
Additionally, in 2018, I worked on a 10 week placement in an Elementary School in York, England.
